During Flow Forming, the pressure alters the cast rim's mechanical properties, matching those of a forged rim, leading to up to 15% weight reduction compared to standard cast wheels. The resulting linear grain structure, flowing in a single direction, coupled with the high casting quality, enhances the rim's mechanical strength and elongation. Consequently, Forgestar can reduce rim thickness, minimizing weight without compromising strength or impact resistance.
